Anansi and the Basket of Mangoes

In, Anansi and the Basket of Mangoes, Anansi, the spider, use his skills of trickery and cunning to find food for himself and family. He tries to get other animals to give him food, but he does not succeed.

Anansi, the tricky spider, goes into the backlands with an empty basket and waits as villages bring out their produce from their farms. Several villagers refuse to give him food. He spots Brother Monkey and his son, coming from the backlands in their canoe laden with mangoes. Anansi succeeds in persuading Brother Monkey to give him a basket of mangoes after he helps to paddle the canoe.
